Brandon
Brandon is the supreme ruler of the Earth. Brandon is so powerful that Hitler would bow to him. He looks at 400 pound bodybuilders and they bust into tears. Though Brandon acts so beastlike, he still has a soft side for kittens and cotton candy which he hides very well. In his spare time, he enjoys making kids cry, the opera, and bird watching. Brandon also bullies people to get what he wants. For example, he once stuffed me into a trashcan because I would not give him a piece of gum. I cried myself to sleep that night.
Those Who Don't Know
Those who don't know any better come into our neighborhood disappointed. They think we're inbread. They think we will kidnap them and take them into the cornfields. They are below average people who are not smart enough to get out.
But we aren't insulted. We know the guy with the tractor is a farmer, and the short one that's standing by the register at Shell gas station, that's the guy who works there, and the smelly one that looks like he drives a trash truck, he's the trash man, though he hates his job.

Jeffrey & The Stars
You can never have to much Kool-Aid. You can fall asleep and wake up drunk on Kool-Aid, and Kool-Aid can keep you safe when you are sad. Here there is too much sadness and not enough Kool-Aid. Flies too are few and so are cockroaches and most things that are ugly. Still, we take what we can get and make the best of it.
Jeffrey, who doesn't like TV dinners, who is sometimes stupid and mostly a fool, said something wise today, though most days he says nothing. Jeffrey, who chases butterflies with a net or an empty jar of pickles and thinks he's tough, today pointed up because the world is full of stars, the kind that are always the same.
You all see that star, the bright one there? Jeffrey said, see that? Where? That one next to the one that looks like the other one. That one there. See that. That's a planet, Jeffrey said. A planet? somebody little asked. A planet, he said, and made it confusing.

I Ain't Got No Culture
I believe that the author in the story envys her friends' cultures too much and does not appreciate just living her normal life enough. Even though her family is not very in depth in culture, she should still be thankful for the things such as her freedoms that she spoke of in the story.
